The truth is... in 1985, three good friends, Jody, Judy and Flo, got together to open a fine dining establishment on Frederica Road. It served five-course meals and great wine for a set price. Great concept . . . needed a great name. Since the three friends shared the same birthday (rather unique) they decided to name it for that auspicious date, and The Fourth of May was opened. It was a "special occasion place" for nine years. When Jody and Judy retired and Tom joined his mom, Flo, in the business.
We moved to the village area and opened the Café and Deli so we could feed more people for less money (another great concept). Today, Tom and his wife, Anne, are the owners of the 4th of May Café and Deli. Flo has The Fourth of May Catering Company, a high-end, full-service, off-premise event organization.
We hope you will enjoy your visit with us and come back often. And Flo wishes to remind you to "eat your veggies."
